    • Which language exams are valid for graduate applications?

      You must submit one of the exams accepted by the university senate.

      For detailed information, you can access Regulations from http://www.sis.itu.edu.tr/TR/mevzuat/mevzuat.php web address.
       
    • Should the reference letter be up-to-date, how many letters are required?
      The reference letter must be up to date. The special conditions of the programs should be examined. Unless otherwise stated, a minimum of 1 reference letter is required for each choice.
    • Should I get a separate reference letter for each program application?
      Yes.
    • Will I upload the reference letter to the system, how will it be uploaded?
      The reference letter is given to the candidate in a sealed envelope by the person giving reference or uploaded via the link sent to the reference person during the online application.
    • I cannot see the reference letter has been uploaded, what should I do?
      You need to contact the person you have mentioned as your reference.
    • If the reference letter is to be delivered by hand, is there a special format?
      You can access the ITU Reference letter template from the forms on the web page. It is not mandatory to use the template, and a reference letter can be prepared as plain text.
    • I haven't graduated from the undergraduate yet, can I apply for the master's degree?
      Yes. However, you must have graduated in the final registration.
    • Where can I find the interview dates?
      Interview dates are announced on the institute page with their dates and hours.
    • What documents do I have to bring to the interview?
      You must bring the original of all the documents you used during the application and the reference letters if they are not uploaded through the system.
    • Can someone else make my final registration?
      If the documents are original and complete, someone else can register them for you.
    • Do I have to submit my original diploma during registration?
      You can submit a photocopy of your diploma provided that you show the original. The graduation certificate obtained from the E-government (E-devlet) is also accepted in the final registration.
    • How is the validity period of the documents submitted in the application determined?
      It is determined over the month and year.
    • GRE certificate does not be ready for the pre-registrations, can I submit the document later?

      No. During the application, you must upload your document to the system.

       
    • Do you accept the internet printout of ALES, GRE, GMAT, TOEFL IBT documents in final registration?
      It is accepted if you submit it in a verifiable way.
    • Are there any student admissions in the spring term of Evening Education Master's Programs without Thesis?
      No. Applications are accepted once (1) in each academic year during the Fall semester.
    • Can I do Masters and PhD at the same time?
      You cannot enroll in two (2) Graduate programs with thesis at the same time.
    • I am a graduate student, when will I start paying Student Tuition Fee?

      From the semester you start your graduate courses;

      If you are a Master’ s student after 4 semesters,

      If you are a PhD student after 8 semesters,

      After 10 semesters, if you are a Ph.D. student who has started directly after your undergraduate program,

      you start paying student tuition.

      Students who are Research Assistants at a state university do not pay tuition on condition that they document their status.

       
    • I am a graduate student, when should I pay the Student Tuition Fee?

    • I am a graduate student, under what conditions will my registration be canceled?
      If you cannot complete your courses and your thesis within the period specified in the Graduate Education and Training Regulation, you will be in a dismissal situation. You can consult your institute for detailed information on the subject.
    • My GPA is not enough during the pre-application process for the program that I will apply, but when the exam results are announced, will my application that will meet the requirements be evaluated?
      Your grade point average in your transcript in pre-registrations is taken into account.
    • Can I upload supplements instead of transcripts for my master's application?
      Yes.
    • Can I apply without uploading a Master's - PhD language document?
      Applications can be made during the pre-registration process. However, PhD students are required to present the language document in the final registration. Master students are given one (1) year to ensure their language proficiency.
    • I was (double major) student in a double major undergraduate program. I graduated from both of my majors. Can I apply to my Master's from both of my majors?
      Yes you can. However, depending on your graduation from the second major program, your university-wide GPA is taken into account in your applications
    • I made a graduate application, I want to change my preference, is it possible?
      If your application is approved, you cannot make changes. If you do not receive the confirmation e-mail, you can contact the Registrar's Office.
    • I made a graduate application, can I make changes to the documents I uploaded?
      If your application is approved, you cannot make changes. If you do not receive the confirmation e-mail, you can contact the Registrar's Office.
    • I am a graduate student, where should I apply for military service procedures?
      You should apply to the Graduate Education Institute for your military service.
    • I want to freeze my registration, what should I do?
      You have to apply to the Graduate Education Institute for freezing.
    • I will apply for a PhD, do I have to upload my language proficiency certificate during the application?
      No. However, if you are accepted, you have to submit your language proficiency certificate during final registration.
    • How long does it take to submit the equivalence or university recognition document?
      You must submit by the end of the first semester you enroll.
    • In the graduate application, my GPA according to the four point system does not meet the application requirement, can I use the converted one-hundred-point system in my application?
      In the application, the GPA is evaluated according to the education system. Whatever the grading system of your courses is in your transcript, only the average in that system should be entered.
    • I am a Master student, if my enrollment is cancelled for some reason or if I cancel it myself, can I enroll in the same department again?
      No, you can't. In the new application period, you can apply again to the same department with the current required documents.
    • I deregistered from the master's degree. I now have the right to register again. Can I adjust the courses I have taken before?
      You have the right to apply for a course adjustment. You must submit your application petition to the Graduate School.
    • I do not have an advisor. I cannot choose a course. What should I do?
      Advisor assignment process is carried out by the program coordinator of the graduate program you are affiliated with and the Graduate Education Institute. Advisor appointments must be made by the end of the first semester at the latest. Otherwise, in accordance with the relevant legislation, the student cannot choose a course starting from the second semester. If you do not have an advisor, contact the program coordinator of the program you are affiliated with.
    • I made a final registration. Where can I get my ITU e-mail address and password?
      ITU e-mail address, username and password transactions are carried out by the Information Technologies Directorate. Information on the subject will be made by the Information Technologies Directorate via e-mail. Student PIN password is provided by the Registrar’s during the registration process.
    • I made final registration, where will I get my student ID card?
      After completing your registration, you can get your identity card from the Card Processing Center within the Information Technologies Directorate.
    • I made a final registration, where can I get my Istanbul card?
      After completing your final registration, you can get it from Istanbul Card Centers.
    • Will I study the Scientific Preparation?
      The program coordinator of the graduate program you are enrolled decides whether or not to study the Scientific Preparation.
    • I have completed the Scientific Preparation, my Master’s advisor cannot enroll me in courses, why?
      Students who study Scientific Preparation for one semester are prevented from choosing a course at the end of the semester. The information regarding whether the student has succeeded in the Scientific Preparation must be reported to the Registrar's Office by the relevant program coordinator.
    • I am a waiting graduate preparatory student at ITU, can I take courses as a special student from the master’s program?
      Students enrolled in ITU cannot register as a special student.
    • I have just registered, how do I make my first semester course registration?

      Your first semester course registration is made by the program coordinator of the program you are enrolled in, since your academic advisor is not determined yet.

    • Whom do I need to have my Special Student Course Request form approved?
      You must have your Course Request Form signed by the lecturer of the relevant course.
    • I want to enroll in a course opened in English as a Special Student, do I have to submit a language proficiency certificate?

      In order to enroll in a course opened in English, you must submit a language proficiency certificate.
