    • When is Double Major application made?

      You can apply for Double Major Program at the end of the first year (two semesters) you spend in undergraduate education, at the beginning of the 3rd semester; at the end of the 2nd year (four semesters), at the beginning of the 5th semester. (Preparatory class is not included in this process.)

    • I want to deregister from my double major program (double major) or minor program, what should I do?

      You should contact the Dean of the Faculty to which your Double Major or Minor program is affiliated.

      Students who want to leave the MINOR program should apply to the Registrar's Office with a petition.

    • How many preferences can be made for internal transfer – DOUBLE MAJOR- MINOR?

      A total of 10 preferences can be made on the same list.

    • The list of people who are accepted from the reserve list has also been announced. I am the first on the reserve list now. If one of those who has been accepted from the reserve list does not register, can I register instead of her/him?
      No.
    • I am a DOUBLE MAJOR or MINOR student. How many credits can I get in a semester?

      There is no credit limit for taking courses.

    • I am a double major program student, can I take courses that I do not meet the prerequisites in my second major program?

      If you have taken the course (s) which are the prerequisites of the course you want to take with a different code and this course does not appear in the list of equivalents, you must submit a petition to the dean of the faculty of your second major to make this course equivalent. Procedures will be made in line with the decision of the administrative board of faculty to which your second major is affiliated.

    • In what duration should I graduate from my double major program? I graduated from my major program, but my double major program continues, what is my status of being expelled?

    • In what duration should I graduate from my minor program? I graduated from my major program, but my minör program continues, what is my status of being expelled?

      After graduating from your major, your education period can be extended for a maximum of two (2) semesters with the decision of the administrative board of faculty to which your minor program is affiliated.

    • I could not take a lesson/lessons / received incomplete credits due to the overlapping of the courses in my DOUBLE MAJOR or MINOR program or the courses were not offered, what should I do?

      You must apply to the faculty of your Double Major or Minor program with a petition explaining your status and request a permit or credit reduction.

      If you do not register for DOUBLE MAJOR or MINOR for 2 consecutive semesters without permission, your DOUBLE MAJOR or MINOR registration will be cancelled.

    • What are the application requirements for double major programs?

      The student must complete at least thirty (30) credits at the end of the first year and at least (60) sixty credits at the end of the second year in order to apply for the Double Major Program, and have passed the courses taken in the major undergraduate program until the semester he applied, the weighted grade average at the time of application must be at least 3.00 out of 4.00 and must be in the top 20% in terms of success ranking of the Major program.

      The student who wants to do a double major in the programs for which the success ranking condition is required, must meet the success ranking requirement determined by the Higher Education Council of the relevant program in the year of enrollment, in addition to the other conditions specified in this directive.

    • What are the application requirements for MINOR programs?

      In order to apply for the YANDAL program, a student must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50 at the time of application and a minimum of thirty (30) credits at the end of the first year and at least sixty (60) credits at the end of the second year.

    • Do I have to have at least CC in all the courses I have taken in order to apply to the DOUBLE MAJOR / MINOR programs?

      No, this is not required. However, for other conditions,  please view ITU - Undergraduate Programs Undergraduate Transfer, Double Major Program and Minor Program Directive.

    • I made an Internal Transfer. Can I apply for the DOUBLE MAJOR or MINOR program?

      Double Major and Minor applications are made at the beginning of each academic year for the 3rd and 5th semesters. You can apply if you meet the requirements, provided that the time you spent in your previous Higher Education Institution / Faculty is added to your total education time.

    • I made undergraduate internal transfer with the Central Placement Score (Appendix-1). Can I apply for the DOUBLE MAJOR or MINOR program?

      Double Major and Minor applications are made at the beginning of each academic year for the 3rd and 5th semester The maximum duration of students who transfer to a program other than the one they are studying at is calculated by subtracting the accepted class from the maximum duration of the program. Therefore, according to your adjustment result, you can apply if you meet the conditions, provided that the time you spent at your previous Higher Education Institution / Faculty is added to your total education time.

    • Will I have my Double Major Program course registration form approved by my Double Major Program advisor? When should I bring it to Student Affairs?

      Yes, you need to have your Double Major Course Registration Form approved by your Double Major Advisor and submit it to the Registrar's Office.

      The delivery date of the form will be announced on http://www.sis.itu.edu.tr/ along with the announcement of the course schedules.

    • I want to make the courses I took for my first major be counted for my second major, what should I do?

      You must apply to the Faculty of your second major regarding your request.

    • I will make a course I took from my second major be counted for my first major, will it affect my grade point average in my first major?

      No, the grade of the course you make counted will not be used in your average calculation.

    • The grade point averages of my first major and second major courses in my transcript, the courses passed or the course credits taken / achieved appear to be incorrect. What should I do?

      The separation of the courses for both of your majors in your transcript is made after the final grade entries are completed. Course separation for students registered in Double Major programs is completed within two months.

    • Can I apply for Internal Transfer, Double Major and Minor at the same time? How many applications do I have? How are applications evaluated?

      Yes, you can apply at the same time. In-house Transfer, Double Major and Minor applications are received through the Student Information System. You can use the same screen to make 10 preferences. The evaluation of the applications is done separately according to your preference priority, provided that the conditions determined for each are met.

       
    • What happens if I take more credits from my second major than the credit amount in my Double Major program?

      There is no problem as long as you take the courses in your Double Major program completely.

    • Do you make the admission process according to the average credit or the credit achieved in the double major application?

      Admission is made according to the credit achieved.

    • I graduated from my first major. Will the course I take from my second major affect the GPA of the first major program?

      No, it doesn't. A single education certificate showing the courses you have taken in both majors together is given. The courses you take in the first major program are counted towards your first major average, the difference courses you have taken in the second major program are counted towards your second major average, and all the courses are counted towards your university grade point average.

    • I graduated from both major programs, using which average will I apply for the graduate application?

      Depending on the graduation of your first major, your first major grade point average is taken into account in the applications you will make for the Graduate (Master's Degree, Doctorate), and your university-wide GPA is taken into consideration for the applications you will make depending on your graduation from the second major program.

    • I entered in university with External Transfer Exam. Do I have the right to apply for DOUBLE MAJOR-MINOR?

      Students who have enrolled in an undergraduate program with the External Transfer Exam (DGS) cannot apply to the Double Major.

    • I entered in the DOUBLE MAJOR/ MINOR program in the 3rd semester. If I am placed in the Minor / Double Major program in the 5th semester, or if I transfer, can I continue the program I placed in the 3rd semester?

      If you gain the right to transfer to any program in the 3rd semester and make a final registration and apply again in the 5th semester in the next year, apply for Transfer, DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR, and make a final registration, your enrollment in the DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR program you registered the previous year is deleted.

    • Is there any problem if I do not register even though I have the right to register after applying for Undergraduate Internal Transfer – DOUBLE MAJOR- MINOR?

      No, there isn’t.

       
    • I applied in the 3rd semester and got enrolled in the DOUBLE MAJOR or MINOR program, if I apply in the 5th semester, will my previous DOUBLE MAJOR or MINOR program be cancelled because I only applied although I am not enrolled?

      No, your application will not cause your registration in your DOUBLE MAJOR or MINOR program to be deleted unless you are registered.

    • I am an Irregular student. I chose a course in the spring semester, which is my first semester. Can I apply for DOUBLE MAJOR-MINOR for the fall semester, which will be my second semester?

      No, you cannot apply. Students who start Irregular education can apply after 3 semesters at the earliest.

    • I have a course with a FF/VF grade. Can I apply for a Double Major Program?

      If you pass your FF / VF course until the evaluation date, your application will be evaluated.

      Yes, you can do.
