    • Can I take a course whose prerequisite I haven't given the in Erasmus?

    • My transcript has not yet been issued by the institution where I went to Erasmus. Can I register for a course whose prerequisite is provided at the other institution during course registration?
      If the prerequisite of the course is fulfilled in the Erasmus Program and the transcript of the other institution has not yet been received, you can apply to the Registrar's Office during the add / drop week, provided that you submit your transcript until the date of "Announcement of the List of Students Who Have Failed to Take the Fall / Spring End of Semester Exam" in the Academic Calendar.
    • When my Erasmus courses are counted, will I have the right to study an upper class, but my transcript will be late. What should I do in order to take lessons with the upper classes?
      During course selection, you must make your selection at the course selection hours of the class corresponding to the credit you have achieved in your ITU transcript.
    • Can I take the course and the prerequisite together in Erasmus?

      You cannot take the course and the prerequisite course together.

    • How many MT, ITB, TM or TB courses can I get on Erasmus?
      You have a certain number of elective course load that you have to achieve during your undergraduate education, however; In line with the permission of your faculty, the number of elective courses you can take in Erasmus may change.
    • How can I correct the grade of any semester elective (MT / TM / ITB / TB) course I took and stayed at the other institution and does not have a one-one equivalent at ITU?
      Courses that do not have a one-one completely equivalent in ITU are added to your transcript with the extension 001. If you fail these courses, you must apply to the faculty you are affiliated with, as the decision of the faculty board is required to equate an elective course taken in the following semesters with the failed course / courses.
    • Can I take a lesson which is not in my plan?
      You cannot take a course that is not included in your plan.
    • Will it affect my graduation if I take one of the ALM, FRA, ISP, ITA, JPN language courses and fail in Erasmus?
      Since elective language courses are credited, if they are not in your plan, they will not affect your graduation. However, it will affect your weighted grade point average.
    • Is it possible not to make the courses I failed not be counted?
      Including the courses you have taken, all courses and grades you have taken within the scope of the Erasmus Undergraduate Exchange Program are recorded in your transcript without exception.
    • Can I get a graduation project?
      You can get a Graduation Project in Erasmus, with the approval of the relevant faculty / thesis supervisor.
    • Pass / Fail is written as a course grade. What will these notes be treated as?
      The grade that is a pass is processed as “exempt from” in your transcript. The fail grade will be processed as FF.
    • Can I get a course which is not compatible?
      You cannot take the course from the other institution unless it is a language course (except English - as it is mandatory) or physical education.
    • I have completed my elective courses. If I fail from my elective courses in Erasmus, will it affect my graduation?
      Although you have completed your elective courses at ITU, the elective courses you have taken in Erasmus will cause you to graduate with more credits. Even if you fail the courses, if you have achieved the average required for graduation (2.00 / 4.00), the extra elective courses you have taken will not affect your graduation.
    • The other institution does not issue wet signed transcripts. Is it sufficient to send it electronically?

      In cases where the other institution does not send the original transcript with wet signature, the electronic transcript sent can be used instead of the original if it can be verified with one of the options below.

    • Term ends late in the other institution. Will I be able to register in the new term?
      Erasmus permits expire at the end of the semester specified in the ITU Academic Calendar. Since the system has been opened to the student at the time of course selection in the new term, you can register for the course.
    • I spent one semester of my Erasmus program, which is totally a year. I want to go back. Can I take a lesson?
      When you shorten your Erasmus leave from two semesters to one semester, you need to apply to the faculty you are affiliated with. The system will be reopened to you with the decision of the Faculty Board of Directors.
    • Can I write my DOUBLE MAJOR / MINOR courses at ITU in return for my Erasmus courses?
      In order to have these courses counted in the Erasmus Agreement, you need to get approval from your DOUBLE MAJOR / MINOR advisor.
    • I got a graduation project at ITU. Will my graduation project drop if my Erasmus transcript arrives late?
      If you bring your transcript before the final grade of your Graduation Project, even if your project has been dropped, it will be re-recorded on your transcript.
    • The grading system is different at the university I go to. How will the grade equivalents of my courses be reflected in the ITU transcript?
      Approximately 200 universities that we have agreements with within the scope of Erasmus have their grading system and transformation. For a university whose grading system or transformation is not given on the transcript, the grading system / transformation accepted in the same country in accordance with the Senate Decision will be used.
    • There are 2.5 and 3 credits (ITU credit) courses in the elective packages that I have matched with my Erasmus course in my contract. I passed the course in Erasmus. How many credits goes through this elective package in transcript at ITU?
      Course credits corresponding to the relevant course at ITU are processed on the transcript.
    • Is it possible if I send my Erasmus transcript and contracts by e-mail to count my courses?

      In face-to-face education, the original or a verified copy of your Erasmus transcript must be submitted to the Registrar's Office in person or on your behalf.

      NOTE: During the pandemic period, it is accepted to send the original documents electronically provided that they are submitted later. Follow the announcements on the Registrar's Office website.

       
    • Do I need anything other than my transcript and contracts to make my courses count?

      The following documents are required for your courses to be included in your ITU transcript:

      Erasmus transcript (wet signed or verifiable copy)

      Learning Agreement (LA)

      Learning Agreement Change Certificate, if available (LA Change)

      The signatures and approvals of the sending university / accepting university Faculty Commission and Dean's Office must be complete.

      Certificate showing the course grades not included in the transcript / wet signed letter of the lecturer of the other institution.

       
    • Instead of the Elective Course, I failed the ITU equivalent course in my Erasmus contract. I am in my last semester and this course is not opened. What should I do to improve my grade?
      If the courses which are mentioned as corresponding with the ITU course in the contract are not opened at ITU including the semester following the return of Erasmus, you must apply to the faculty you are affiliated to for the course equivalence from the same elective group.
    • Is there a problem because the arrival time of my Erasmus transcript will be later than add \ drop week?
      Erasmus transcript and contracts must be submitted to the Registrar's Office until the end of the add / drop week at the latest in the semester following the return of Erasmus.
    • I am currently taking the course I failed in Erasmus again at ITU. Which grade will my grade be valid?
      The grade of the last course you took will be valid.
    • In my contract, I wrote the institution course in English, but on my Erasmus transcript, the course name was written in that country's language. Is this a problem?
      Your course code must exactly match the course code you received at the host institution.
    • I took two elective courses on Erasmus. I failed from one and passed from another. Will the grades of these courses be averaged?
      The credits and grades of each course are processed separately to the average.
    • I wrote a single course as corresponding to ITU course for 2 courses at the other institution. I failed at one of them and passed the other . Will these lessons be averaged?
      In the event that more than one course taken in one semester (fall or spring) in the Erasmus program is counted instead of one course at ITU, the weighted grade average of these courses is processed as the grade of the course in ITU.
    • In my Erasmus transcript, my grades were written with both the host institution’s and the Erasmus grading system. Which will be taken into account when processing onto my Transcript?
      The Erasmus grading system will be considered.
    • The courses I took in the Erasmus program were taught in English. These lessons are in Turkish in my plan and I failed one of them. Do I have to take the course in English at ITU in order to improve the grade for this course?
      Regardless of the language of all courses taken in Erasmus, ITU equivalents will be written on your transcript in English. If the course is included in your plan in Turkish and you failed this course, you can take this course in Turkish at ITU.
    • I forgot to have my LA / LA Change document signed by the host institution. Do I have to go abroad again for this? If I don't get it signed, won't my lessons count?
      If you have forgotten to get a signature from the coordinators of the host institution for your contracts on your return from Erasmus, you can scan your original document and send it to the other institution by e-mail and complete the necessary signatures.
    • The grade of one / more of the courses I have taken in the Erasmus program is not included in my transcript, it will be announced late. Can I get a document from the other institution / course lecturer and make a request for transcript processing later?
      Some grades can be announced after your return. After your Erasmus courses are included in your ITU transcript, you can make the new grades announced by the other institution with a certificate showing the grade or a letter signed by the lecturer processed.
    • The other institution does not provide transcripts because I fail all courses. Is it enough if I just bring my contracts to you?
      If you fail all courses, you must submit a document from the host institution stating your status.
    • I took a course in Erasmus both in fall and spring semesters. I passed with a low grade in the fall period and failed in the spring period. Which semester's grade will be used?
      Both courses are processed in your transcript by semesters and your final grade will be valid and affect your average.
    • one course in the host institution and the courses in the host institution are given in two seperate semesters. In this case, will the course be treated as if it was repeated or will the average of the two be written in a single term?

    • Can someone else submit my Erasmus documents for the course count?
      Yes
    • In my ITU transcript, one of the courses I have taken in the Erasmus program seems missing, and a course that was not included in my contracts was counted as extra. How can I fix this problem?
      Courses are included in your transcript with the ITU course code. If a course code is written incorrectly in your contract, you will encounter this problem. Please contact your Erasmus coordinator in your department.
    • The ECTS (ECTS) of a course in the contract and Erasmus transcript look different. Does it cause a problem in course count?
      ECTS credit corresponding to the course you will take at ITU is taken as basis.
    • I substituted MT for a course I took in Erasmus program, but later realized that the course should be ITB, not MT. Is it possible to change the lesson?
      Since the decision of the Faculty Board is required for course changes, please apply to your faculty.
    • Can I take a master / doctorate / a different department course in Erasmus program?
      You must be a senior student to take a postgraduate course.
    • While we are undergraduate students, we can also take a graduate course in the last year. Can we write an ITU Master’s course in return for the Erasmus course in the contract to be counted in the master's degree?
      You cannot show a course that is not included in your ITU undergraduate course plan in exchange for Erasmus program.
    • I got a Graduation Project in Erasmus program. Do I have to make a graduation presentation both at the host institution and at ITU? Which grade will apply in this case?
      Whether you will defend at the host institution depends on the rules of the host institution. You must make a final presentation at ITU. The grade you will receive after your graduation presentation at ITU will be written on your transcript.
    • Does ITU course name have to be the same as the host institution's course name?
      If the faculty you are affiliated with approves the course content, the course names of ITU and the other institution do not have to be the same.
